Another Ancient Reforged!

Reforged Brother Thaen joins the fellowship of ancients amongst the Red Scholars!

I went all out on the dynamic shading and highlighting on this model. I think it gives it almost a comic book finish that I really like. I also got to apply the lessons I learned from painting the Forgefather with my improved NMM recipe. It was a lot of fun to do on a larger scale.

Finally, here is my next HPC vow- another ancient!

I'm going to try my damnedest to get this guy painted up by tomorrow evening for me and Nyle's Warhammer Brodown Weekend. Lets see if I can't get the edge in our forthcoming dread bash. We'll try to do our best to actually document some of our games between the inevitable excited shouting, rolling, and laughing.

I finished my dreads!  Here are Ancient Ajax and Rovik The Martyr.  

You may notice I mixed up the weapons when painting, so now they have the opposite gun.  Ah well.  I just get so excited sometimes that I lose track of these details.

Next up is The Cullers of The Weak! My goal is to finish them before sunday June 1st for a Bros Before Saving Throws Bro-Down Show-Down Jason and I will have that week.  That's a lot to paint durring that time!  It is so hard to balance two jobs, a girlfriend, and familial obligations with being a colossal 40k nerd.  Worst case scenario, I fail and take down a Lamenters tact squad instead.  Here's hoping I wont have too!

First 1,000 Completed!

I finished Ashur today, which means I hit the 1,000 point mark!  Here he is!

In addition I was flipping back through my posts and noticed an omission...I forgot to post the before picture of Squad Kalath!  Well here it is regardless...

Since I completed six units for my thousand point list I don't feel terrible about the mistake.  Still silly to take the picture and completely forget to post it though!  I haven't had time to write background due to an increased workload at work.  Maybe I'll get a bunch done in the future, but for now I only have time for painting.  On to the the 500 point chunk for the June games with twoplussave next!
